|
The European Prize for Urban Public Space , sponsored by Escofet 1886, is a biennial competition organized by six European institutions with the aim to recognize and encourage the recovery projects and defense of public space in our cities. The award, created in 2000, celebrates its seventh edition in 2012.
Joint Winners are for:
Preureditve nabrežij in mostovi na Ljubljanici in Ljubljana (Slovenia), 2011. Renovation of the banks of the River Ljubljanica in the section flowing through the old city centre, a collective effort that concentrates resources in a range of specific interventions.
Arranjament dels cims del Turó de la Rovira in Barcelona (Spain), 2011. Landscaping and improved accessibility to a lookout where the remains of an anti-aircraft gun emplacement combine with those of a shanty village that was later constructed there.
Special mencions were for Exhibition Road in London; Mémorial de l’abolition de l’esclavage in Nantes and Annorstädes / Elsewhere / Ailleurs in Malmö. The special category is for Acampada en la Purta del Sol in Madrid. |

El mobiliario urbano de nueva generación desafía las viejas leyes de la física, en su marcha hacia un futuro donde la materia se libera de peso y gana en prestaciones. Las nuevas tecnologías del hormigón -con el UHPC (en su acepción inglesa Ultra High Performance Concrete) permiten inver-tir ecuaciones que dábamos por sentadas.
