(1) Reinforced cast Stone, Grey, Smooth acid-etched and waterproofed. / Anchored with screws / 250 Kg., 140 Kg.
The DIJO TABURETE and BANQUETA models were inspired by the ceremonial seats used by Taíno Indians. Known as DUJOS, they were normally used by tribal caciques (heads) and sorcerers living in the Greater Antilles, from Cuba to Puerto Rico, long before the first Europeans reached America. They were low seats, carved in stone or wood, with a curved surface used as a backrest in some cases. DUJO was originally designed for the Laguna del Condado Park project in Puerto Rico by Davis Fuster Architects in conjunction with Escofet. The aim was to create an area for people to watch the sea and the sunset, where DUJO would play a central role in giving the project an allegorical nuance. Cast stone was chosen for these models due to its necessary visual weight and its guaranteed durability. Both BANQUETA and TABURETE DUJO accept subsequent additions. They can be combined in lines to create a beautiful undulating pattern through the curvature of their surface. |
