Dama is a planter made from Corten steel, which gives them a sensation of robustness, and the shape, tone and colour of traditional ceramic planters, thus returning to the spirit of old gardens and florid balconies, with the objective of transgressing the rules and sowing plants throughout urban space.
All three Damas -small, medium and large- belong to the Magic Flute collection, created in 1995 for the purpose of remodelling the street Santa Clara in the city of Girona. The Magic Flute site furnishing collection was inspired by the characters and music of the famous opera by Mozart. The diverse urban components comprising the Dama planters, Paperegena litter bin, Sarastro fountain and G-bench have formal characteristics that allow them to relate to each other in harmony, creating a visual melody in the landscape. The three sizes mentioned above have evolved to a single larger-sized model with the capacity to permit the planting of larger plant species and minimal maintenance needs.
It is made from a single sheet of machined, welded Corten steel with a thickness of 6 mm. After sandblasting and applying a baked powder coated “Corten effect” finish, the Dama planter surface is smooth and agreeable to the touch. Self-standing, with need for anchors.
