Sloane Street

London, United Kingdom 2024
John McAslan + Partners

Located in the heart of Sloane Street, one of London’s most emblematic shopping avenues, this intervention forms part of an ambitious urban renewal project aimed at transforming the public space of the Chelsea district. The redesign of the avenue widens the pavements, reorganises mobility and creates new areas for rest and gathering that accompany the elegant and contemporary character of this urban axis.

As part of this transformation, the Esfera planters are integrated along the avenue, providing a strong sculptural presence. Their spherical geometry and concrete materiality allow vegetation to be introduced in an elegant and timeless way, establishing a dialogue with the surrounding architecture while reinforcing the representative character of the public space. These pieces operate simultaneously as landscape and urban elements: they structure the space, define areas and introduce plant mass without losing visual lightness.
