Environment for astral encounters
The constellation of the Pleiades is the most outstanding star cluster in the sky. In Greek mythology, it represented the seven daughters of Atlas and Pleyone. The Aztecs called this constellation Tianquiztli, meaning "market" or "meeting place", in reference to the group of stars forming the cluster. The market as a space for exchange of goods and knowledge, ultimately, the public square or the agora of civilization.
In the same way, Escofet promotes the exchange of experiences through this installation that took place in Mexico City, during the celebration of the Mextrópoli 2019 festival. It is a reproduction of the mentioned star pattern formed with Flor benches, facilitating passers-by to take a break while interacting with the environment and other users. The installation is complemented by the Monolito signage element.
