The 620, 900 and 1500 Hidrojardineras (Hidro Planters) are characterised by the appropriate incorporation of a self-watering system into their design. They were designed with the objective of creating planters in several sizes to permit the planting and growth of average-sized trees and the possibility of moving them without having to empty the contents.
The 620 and 900 Hidrojardineras, designed by Enric Pericas in 1999, were created within the framework of a collaborative agreement between Escofet and the Barcelona Municipal Institute of Parks and Gardens.
The 620 and 900 Hidrojardineras have a built-in hydroponic watering system that reduces the watering frequency. The system consists of a lower water storage tank in which the level is regulated by a relief valve, a polyvinyl separator plate perforated by cotton wicks that suction the water by capillarity and two vertical ducts that ventilate the tank, emerging above the top level of soil to prevent water putrefaction.
Its cubic geometry lends strength to its structure, allowing it to be moved even when filled with soil, without affecting the plants that grow inside it. Monomaterial body of concrete reinforced with stainless steel. Etched, water-repellent finish. Supplied in all the Escofet standard chart colours. Self-standing and installed directly on the paving on the four support legs built into the concrete volume, with no need for anchors.
