The renovation and expansion project for Guineueta Market in Barcelona's Nou Barris district extends a bay around the entire perimeter to create a new facade. This is resolved with a lattice constructed from 152 2.8 x 2.3 m UHPC panels, with 3 by 7 cm thick braided hexagonal profiles, pierced with 15 cm diameter holes.
The panels include translucent, opaque and transparent red polycarbonate discs inserted in the holes, which sheds coloured light into the market during opening hours and also outwards at night, under the effect of artificial light.
