Together with MATCOAM, we organized an event at the Madrid Association of Architects to promote more accessible, inclusive, calmer, and healthier environments

This week, alongside MATCOAM, we held a conference at the Official College of Architects of Madrid (COAM) to highlight the transformation of public space as a driver of urban change. The event gathered over 150 professionals from the fields of urban planning and landscape architecture —architects, landscape designers, and public administration experts— in an atmosphere that encouraged both reflection and the exchange of experiences.

Urban strategies for a more human future

During the event, we presented our methodology for urban innovation, based on interventions in public space through projects developed in different cities. All of them share the same purpose: to create accessible, inclusive, peaceful, and healthy environments.

Through concrete examples, it was shown how urban design, when grounded in research and active listening to citizens’ needs, becomes a true engine of transformation. Among the highlighted projects were the Metropolitan Forest by AldayJover, a green infrastructure redefining the future landscape of Madrid; the Málaga Coastal Plan by B720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos, which reconnects the city with its seafront while prioritizing pedestrian mobility and quality of life; the Glòries Park by Agence Ter together with ACPA, which reimagines a complex urban node and turns it into a major public space for the community; and the Horizon Esplanade by María Fandiño, a project proposing a sensitive dialogue between landscape and citizens.
