Bio
Jean Nouvel is a French architect and urban planner, awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2008. Since 1970, he has led his own studio, developing a prolific international career. Among his most notable works are the Arab World Institute and the Cartier Foundation in Paris, the Lyon Opera House, the Cultural and Congress Center and Hotel in Lucerne, the Nantes Courthouse, the Dentsu Tower in Tokyo, the Archaeology Museum in Périgueux, the Technology Center in Wismar, the Saint James Hotel in France, the Glòries Tower in Barcelona, the Reina Sofía Museum extension in Madrid, the Quai Branly Museum in Paris, the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, and the Tours Conference Center. In collaboration with the Catalan studio Ribas & Ribas Arquitectos, Nouvel designed the Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel, located in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, inaugurated in January 2012.
