OMBREL·LA

OMBREL·LA is a modular shading system conceived to respond to the new climatic needs of contemporary public space. Designed as a lightweight infrastructure capable of creating urban shelters and comfortable gathering areas, its modular configuration based on a repetitive hexagonal geometry allows for adaptable canopies across different scales and urban contexts. The system incorporates configurable slats that regulate solar exposure, promote natural ventilation, and improve thermal comfort, offering different conditions of shade, light, and protection according to the requirements of each project.

Entirely manufactured in silver anodised aluminium, OMBREL·LA combines lightweight construction, precision, and durability through extruded profiles and optimised assembly systems. Its mono-material condition and reduced weight facilitate both transport and installation, minimising the impact associated with construction works and enabling efficient implementation in squares, promenades, and collective spaces. The repetition of its geometry also encourages the creation of flexible groupings and configurations capable of integrating naturally into different urban and landscape environments.

The system supports different installation solutions. It can be anchored to the ground through a dedicated foundation or integrated into self-supporting planters, such as the GARONNE LUPA model, minimizing civil works while allowing climbing vegetation to cover the structure of the urban pergola.
