Residencia Cristóbal de Moura
The Cristóbal de Moura student residence is located in Barcelona’s 22@ district, a rapidly evolving area that brings together educational facilities, new office developments, and the new green axis of Poblenou.
The residence façade seeks to establish a connection with the characteristic morphology of Barcelona’s Eixample district. Both volumes are clad with prefabricated concrete blocks, featuring a colour palette inspired by the stucco finishes and sgraffito decorations of Barcelona’s Modernist architecture.
In addition, the alternation of smooth and ribbed elements helps blur the joints between panels and creates subtle chromatic variations across the façade depending on sunlight exposure. This approach enhances warmth and visual quality at a human scale while ensuring a coherent response to the urban scale as a whole.
