School environments
The transformation of school environments led by the Madrid City Council redefines public space through traffic calming, active mobility and urban comfort strategies. The intervention reclaims space for pedestrians, creating safer, more accessible and more liveable environments where social interaction and everyday use become central to the areas surrounding educational facilities.
Within this context, the SERP bench has been incorporated as a continuous, sculptural seating solution that structures the new public areas while providing flexibility of use. Its fluid geometry encourages people to stay, meet and interact, integrating naturally into an intervention designed at the pedestrian scale.
The project understands urban furniture as an essential piece of public infrastructure capable of enhancing the urban landscape and improving the experience of public space. The integration of SERP reinforces the identity of these renewed school environments, contributing to streets that are more liveable, resilient and better equipped to meet the needs of the contemporary city.
